There are basically two major versions of José Claro Fumero’s “Bemba Colorá”. And of course: they are both featuring La Reina, Celia Cruz. This is one of her biggest hits, and this song will forever be connected to her name.
First, there is the more commonly know version, arranged by bassist Bobby Valentín and performed by the Fania All-Stars.
But the version available here is the older, original and – in my opining – purer and more mambo’ish version by Tito Puente and his Orchestra.
Due to the fast tempo and high 1st trumpet notes, this arrangement is for advanced players.
In order to make this popular classic tune available to more people, I decided to include a simplified, and lower horn arrangement if you purchase the full arrangement, for free.
