¿Y, tu que has hecho? is a pearl of a song which belongs to the genre of vieja trova in Cuba.
Traditionally the only percussion accompaniment is the clave campesina, although on the Buena Vista album they used more, subtle percussion.
Always sang in two voices, of which the second voice was often an improvised counterpoint-style voice.
BTW, that’s where Compay Segundo got his nickname from, being such a wonderful second voice singer.
