On this fantastic salsa romantica track the great José Lugo, who was the pianist and arranger of Gilberto Santa Rosa’s band until his tragic death in 2016, was hired to do the arrangement of No vale la pena by Alberto Gaitán. It’s just breathtaking how tasteful he harmonises the horn section. Powerful mambos without falling into any simplicities or too many repetitions. A true school of artistry!
